Nicholas Rand

Dr. Nicholas Rand was born and raised in Western New York. He is a Derby native and completed his bachelor's degree in biochemistry at SUNY Geneseo. After deciding to pursue his lifelong passion in animal medicine he obtained his Doctorate from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2016.

Since completing veterinary school, Dr. Rand had worked locally in the Western NY area for 10 years before joining Lancaster Small Animal Hospital in July of 2026. Some of his professional interests include emergency medicine, preventative health, internal medicine and dentistry.

When Dr. Rand isn't at the clinic; he spends his time with his wife, Laura, their two children, and their coonhound mix, Zoey. Dr. Rand loves all things Buffalo (Go Bills and Sabres!) and almost any outdoor activity.
