Heather Fetzner, DVM
Chief of Staff
Originally from Rochester, New York, our Chief of Staff Dr. Heather Fetzner has always had a strong passion for animals of all kinds. She began her studies at the State University of New York at Brockport, completing a BS degree in Biology and Minor in Chemistry in 2005. After being accepted to Purdue University's School of Veterinary Medicine, she successfully earned her DVM degree in 2010.
While attending Purdue, Dr. Fetzner was honored with the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) Award for Clinical Excellence in Cardiology and inducted into the Society of Phi Zeta, the National Honor Society of Veterinary Medicine.
After graduation, Dr. Fetzner continued her clinical education and advanced medical training by completing a one year small animal rotating internship at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. Through her rigorous experience here, she was able to refine her skills and pursue her interests in emergency medicine, internal medicine (specifically endoscopy), surgery, ultrasound, and cardiology. Dr. Fetzner joined the Lancaster Small Animal Hospital team in July of 2011, and is excited to be part of such a wonderful community.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Fetzner enjoys spending time with her husband, Adriano, and their yellow Labrador, Luna. Some of her interests include various outdoor activities (biking, boating, and hiking) as well as reading, watching films, and attending theatre performances.
